Fire destroys Groesbeck home
At approximately 10:30 PM a passerby reported have a flame coming from the home of Tim Thompson at 602 W. State St. Groesbeck Fire-Rescue was paged by the Limestone County Sheriff's office and reported the structure nearly fully involved.
Groesbeck PD Officer Alvarado arrived on scene first and attempted to determine if anyone was inside the home. Officer Alvarado tried to enter through the front door but was turned back by high heat and flames.
Groesbeck Tender 2403, driven by Assistant Chief Dylan Tidwell, was first arriving Groesbeck Fire unit on scene AT 10:35 PM. He located the hydrant and provided scene size-up for other incoming fire units. Tidwell reported the possibility that a resident may have been entrapped and requested additional alarms from Limestone Medical Center EMS, West Lake Limestone VFD, Thornton VFD and Kosse VFD. Groesbeck Engine 2401, with 3 personnel, arrived on the scene next, at approximately 10:37 PM. Engine 2401 connected to a hydrant on the corner of Preston and State streets and deployed two 1 1/2” handlines to support fire suppression and primary search for victims.
