Groesbeck Lions Club hears Report on local flu epidemic
Chelesa Yerger, a nurse from the Family Medicine Center and the Limestone Medical Center, spoke to the Groesbeck Lions Club on Wednesday, February 20. She was introduced by Michael Williams, the program chairman for this month.
Yerger’s topic was the current widespread outbreak of influenza or the flu. Yerger has been with the LMC organization for several years.
Yerger described flu as a contagious respirator virus. The flu season is usually October through March.
The speaker stated that for the current flu season LMC as treated 267 cases of flu thus far compared to 96 cases the previous flu season.
