Barstow named District 19-3A Coach of the Year in basketball, Carter receives Sixth Man award
The District 19-3A all-district teams were announced late last week with Tyrique Carter receiving the Sixth Man award and head coach William Barstow named the district’s Coach of the Year.
First team all-district honors went to Nick Mosley and Ameer Lee, with Brandyn Canady making the district’s second team. Juniors Jake Pringle and Ty Hale both received honorable mention. Pringle scored 177 points in 33 games, grabbed 152 boards - third on the team - and had 31 blocked shots to lead the team in that category. Hale scored 158 points in 33 games, along with 158 rebounds, 51 assists and made 41 steals.
Carter came off the bench to this season for the Goats, providing 7.2 points per game on offense, along with 2.2 rebounds per game, 1.2 assists and one steal per contest.
