Brenda Joyce Kinney Masters

Our precious mom, Brenda Joyce Kinney Masters, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 in Mexia. She was born Dec. 17, 1945 to Oliver and Dessie Kinney in Dallas. She married Gary Fred Masters, March 8, 1965 in Shiloh, Texas. Brenda was a devoted wife for 57 years, a loving mom, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend with a heart of gold. She was employed at Hobbs Bonded Fibers in Groesbeck for many years. She also drove many years cross country with her husband.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Anthony Ray Kinney of Washington, D.C., nephew Christopher Kinney of Los Angeles, nephew Jason Cannefax of Combine, Texas, and sister-in-law Charlene Kinney of Wills Point, Texas.

She left behind many children, Lori Masters and Kelley Sherrard of Corsicana, Texas, Dena Masters of Wortham, Steven and Melissa Masters of Groesbeck, Staci Masters and Alan Stinnett of Waco.

God blessed Brenda and Fred with grandchildren, Lauren and Chelcie Gist of Thornton, Texas, Kylee Masters of Groesbeck, Madison Masters of Dallas, Camden, Tanner, Jaxon, and Layton Stinnett of Waco, and great grandson Corbin Grigg of Thornton, Texas.

As Paul wrote in Titus 2:7, “In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, and seriousness.”

Brenda and Fred set that example in many ways by their love, honor, and respect that they passed on to their children and grandchildren.

A celebration of Brenda’s life will be held Saturday, June 11 at 10 a.m. at the Thornton Cemetery in Thornton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
