Carl Joe Cochran, Jr.

Carl Joe Cochran, Jr., of Hewitt, passed away at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco on Monday, February 14, 2022, at age 51.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Cobb Cemetery.

Carl was born on February 7, 1971, to Joe and Janet Cochran in Freeport. When he was 5, the family moved to Amarillo, where he grew up and graduated from Amarillo High School in the Class of 1990.

While he was growing up, he enjoyed spending weeks at the time with his grandparents, Carl and Elaine Cochran, in the Box Church area. He moved to Groesbeck in 1991 after he had graduated to be of assistance to his grandmother after Carl had passed away.

While living in Groesbeck, he met Jennifer Sanders, and they were united in marriage on January 29, 1996, and they made their home in Waco and raised their children for the next twenty-six years.

Carl operated his own business as a vendor of bread products, with setting up sales accounts with various stores in the Waco area. He and Jennifer worked together in the business seven days a week.

Carl enjoyed the rural outdoors and owned land near Box Church where he enjoyed hunting and spending time, and also just being around cows and horses on his parents’ farm. He was a Christian who had accepted Christ.

Carl’s great memories of his time with his grandparents included his grandfather buying a cart and donkey for riding at his grandfather’s farm. He so treasured his grandfather’s dress shoes that he was proud to wear them when he was married, and they will accompany him to his final resting place.

Carl was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Elaine Cochran.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Christine Cochran of Hewitt; daughter and son-in law, Aneshia and Steven Crouch of Kyle; daughter, Mary Elaine Cochran of Waco; daughter, Sarah Christine Cochran of Hewitt; and granddaughters, Ramona Crouch of Kyle and Violet Christine Cochran. He is also survived by his father, Carl Joe Cochran, Sr. and his mother, Janet Cochran of Sugar Land and his sister and brother-inlaw, Cara and Travis McGarrah of Clear Lake.
