Doris Dell Potter

Doris Dell Potter, 92, of Seagoville, TX went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2022. Doris was born on February 14, 1930, to John and Iris Davis in Limestone County near Thornton.. She graduated from Thornton ISD. Doris married Fred Potter on March 2, 1954, in Dallas, and they were together for a loving 48 years before his passing in 2002. She worked at several different places through the years; from Republic National Bank to PaceSetter Sales selling Tupperware, to distributing newspapers for 20 plus years for the Dallas Morning News. In August 2000 She moved to Kaufman and did what she really loved, being a grandma. Not just for her kids but to all her grandchildrens friends. She was a grandma to most of the graduating classes of 2005-08 of Kaufman ISD. Doris enjoyed sewing, she made and altered clothes for friends and family. When she was younger, she liked to ice skate, water ski and bowl. She and Fred were in several bowling leagues including bowling at Mickey Mantle’s bowling lanes. Doris was a member of the Landmark Church of Christ in Kaufman where she attended many years. Her parents, husband Fred, and siblings: Joyce Cantrell, JoNelle Robinson, Donald Davis, Aleen Archer, Edell Davis and Nina Ruth Davis preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory are son Byron Potter and wife Deborah, daughter Andrea Pylant, grandchildren; Clint Pylant, Joshua Pylant and wife Victoria, Nikos Castillo and Holly Potter-Allen and husband Kevin, great grandchildren; Everest Allen, Shelby Pylant and Riley Pylant; numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. The family will celebrate Doris’ life with a visitation at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home in Kaufman, TX on Friday, May 27, from 6-8 p.m., a funeral service will be held on May 28 at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home and interment at 3 p.m. in the Cobb Cemetery in Thornton.
