EDITH JANICE (SCHRADER) COBB

Edith Janice (Schrader) Cobb, 79, of Madisonville, TX; passed away on Sunday; October 7, 2018 at CHI Madison St. Joseph Hospital in Madisonvlle surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are scheduled for 1PM on Friday; October 12, 2018 at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville with Floyd Bennett officating. The burial will follow at Fort Parker Cemetery in Groesbeck, TX. The family will receive visitors from 5-7PM on Thursday; October 11th at Day Funeral Home.

Janice, who was known by her grandchildren as “Mammaw”, was born on February 1, 1939 in Riesel, TX to Alvin Carl and Lena (Able) Schrader. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin Deryl Cobb; her children, Dawn “Sissy” Cobb, Mark Cobb, and Harlan Brian Cobb; her brother, Woodrow Schrader; and her sisters, Lois Caskey and Allene Harper.

Janice was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was a remarkable cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. Janice loved watching The Food Network Channel and putting her own spin to the recipes. You could taste the love in everything she cooked.

Janice married the love of her life, Calvin Deryl Cobb, at The First Baptist Church in Groesbeck. They made their home in Madisonville in 1971 and were blessed with five children and had fiftynine wonderful years together.

Janice is survived by her brother, Alvin “Junior” Schrader of Seminole; her daughter, Carla Cobb Tidwell and her husband Daniel of Madisonville; her son, Calvin Deryl Cobb, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Porter; her daughterin-law, Diane Brinkley Cobb of Madisonville; and her grandchildren, Lacie Cobb Blakley and her husband Jon of Madisonville, Mindy Cobb Prine and her husband Chris of Bryan, Lindsie Wood and her husband Lance of Centerville, Lanie Cannon of Centerville, Justin Cobb and his wife Kristine of Montgomery, Colby Catoe of Madisonville, Ryan Tidwell of Madisonville, Regan Tidwell of Madisonville, and Rachel Tidwell of Madisonville; and her legacy continues with fifteen great-grandchildren.
