Enedina Venegas
Enedina Venegas, of Groesbeck, passed away in the hospital in Waco on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at age 72.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, by Deacon Daniel Ramirez in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Visitation between 6 and 8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mexia will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, with Father Moses Iyogwoya conducting the mass. Burial will follow in Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck.
Pallbearers will be Jose Venegas, Felipe Venegas, Cristian Venegas, Carlos Chombo, Oscar Chombo, Diego Venegas, and Alejandro Lino.
Enedina was born in Huanimaro, Guanajuato, Mexico on Oct. 29, 1952, to Felipe Arriaga and Consuelo Rivera. She grew up in Mexico and when she was a young girl of 15, she was united in marriage with Manual Venegas.
Enedina moved to Groesbeck around 1989, where she raised her family and was a devoted housewife and mother. She also worked for the Groesbeck ISD.
Enedina was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mexia. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts for the family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her large family and will be missed by each one.
Enedina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel Venegas; and an infant daughter.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jose A. and Cecilia Venegas and Felipe and Esmerelda Venegas; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Alicia Venegas and husband Amparo and Maria De La Luz “Lucy” Venegas and husband Alejandro Lino, all of Groesbeck. Her grandchildren are: Joseph A. Venegas, Cristian M. Venegas, Daniela Venegas, Elizabeth Venegas, Xavier M. Venegas, Fernando Venegas, Diego Venegas, America Venegas, Manuel Venegas, Cindy Venegas, Carlos Chombo, Oscar Chombo, Ernesto Chombo, Enrique Chombo, and Manuel Lino. Her 5 great grandchildren are: Riley Venegas, Reece Venegas, Ryker Venegas, Eli Venegas, and Brooks Mateo Chombo.
