Erwin Gene Machann

Erwin Gene Machann was born May 27, 1938 and homeward bound Jan. 11, 2022.

He was born in San Angelo, Tx. to Emil and Hattie Machann. He moved to Houston, Tx. in 1963 and retired to Lake Limestone in 2001.

Erwin worked in the auto industry for over 30 years. He was honored by the Lincoln-Mercury division as “Salesman of the Year” 13 times in his career, as well as an Inner Circle member that recognized the top Lincoln-Mercury salespeople in the country over 20 times.

Erwin is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Sandra Machann of Lake Limestone; sister Carol Harlow of San Angelo; sons, Steve Machann and wife Ranessa of Houston and Russell Machann and wife Tonya of Wharton; 5 grandchildren: Charles Machann and wife Caitlyn of Plano, Sarah Machann of Charlotte, NC, Kacy Hamilton and husband Reagan of Midlothian, Andrea Machann of Dallas, and Robin Machann of College Station; 2 step grandchildren, Josh Palmer of Portland, OR and Juston Baze of Richmond, TX; great grandchildren, Mila and Maxen Machann of Plano and Turner Hamilton of Midlothian; 2 sisters-in-laws and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be at the Groesbeck Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., and a “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday Jan. 22, at Lake Limestone Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m.

The family wishes to thank the caring doctors and nurses that gave him such wonderful care these past 11 months, as well as Texas Home Health Care of Groesbeck and Traditions Hospice care of Crockett.

The family sincerely appreciates Bill and Sarah Boyles, Virgil and Mary Peterson and Ruthie Sanders for their unconditional support as well as other loving neighbors and friends.
