Evelyn Joy Hull
Age 92 - Funeral services Evelyn Joy Hull will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Flock Baptist Church near Jewett. Interment will follow at Little Flock Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, with the family present, at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett.
Ms. Hull passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Groesbeck LTC Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Evelyn was born on November 25, 1926 in Concord to parents, J. W. & Willie May Griffin. She lived in Leon County most of her life. Ms. Hull was one of many “Rosie the Riveters” helping with the war effort during WWII. She also was a cosmetologist for over 65 years, owning Evelyn’s Beauty Shop in Jewett. Ms. Hull was a lifelong rancher, she raised cutting horses and attending many shows. She spent a lot of time helping her grandchildren show cattle and really loved attending their shows. Ms. Hull also enjoyed traveling and took many trips with the Farmers State Bank group to Branson, MO and other places. She was a long time member of Little Flock Baptist Church. She really loved her great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Lesa Morton of Jewett; one grandson, Clayton Morton & wife Jacqueline of Donie; one granddaughter, Nashlee Barnes & husband Will of Wortham; and four great-grandchildren, Jolie Morton, Briarlee Barnes, Wrynlee Barnes, J. W. Barnes.
Ms. Hull was preceded in death by her husband, Roy F. Hull; one daughter, Joyce May Hull; and three brothers, Cotton Griffin, Shorty Griffin and Roger Lee Griffin.
