Geraldine Ariano

Geraldine Ariano, longtime resident of Thornton, passed away December 6, 2020 in Groesbeck, Texas at the age of 99. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., December 9, 2020 at the Central Baptist Church in Thornton with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating. Interment was in the Thornton Cemetery. Johnny Jones, David Jones, Chris Cox, Steve Sharp, Jimmy Jones, and Jim Davis served as pallbearers.

Geraldine was born March 18, 1921 in Thornton, Texas to James Bascom and Maybel Hudson Aman. She was a graduate of Westminster College in Tehuacana, Texas. Geraldine retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 40 years of service.

Geraldine loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She enjoyed attending both the Central Baptist Church and the Methodist Church in Thornton. She was also a member of DAR. Although Geraldine didn’t have any children, she dearly loved, and was loved by her nieces and nephews. She had an outgoing personality, loved people, and she lived by the “Golden Rule”, she treated everyone as she wanted to be treated.

Geraldine was blessed with good health for almost her entire 99 years; she will be truly missed by her family and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Maybel Aman; husband, John Ariano; and sister, Zella Dell Jones.

Geraldine is survived by three nephews, Jimmy Jones, Johnny Jones and David Jones all of Conroe; two nieces, Robin Truelove and Suzan Davis both of Conroe; and too many friends to list.
