JAMES DWAIN “JIM” MCCOSLIN

James Dwain “Jim” McCoslin passed away at his home in Hallsville, TX. on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at age 82.

Services are pending at this time for future interment in New Hope Cemetery.

Jim was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Houston. to Charles Henry McCoslin and Mildred Gantt McCoslin Wright. He grew up in Houston and graduated from Reagan High School. He served in the Texas Air National Guard beginning in 1965 until 1971.

Jim was married to Frankie Weber McCoslin.They lived in Houston until they moved to Groesbeck where they made their home for many years. He retired from working after 30 years as an outside quality control inspector with various companies. After retirement they move to be closer to their families.He enjoyed going to antique car shows and working in the yard.

They were members of the Bethel Baptist Church in Groesbeck.

Jim was preceded by his parents, Charles Henry McCoslin and Mildred McCoslin Wright; brother, Gerald Dwain McCoslin; sister, Bonnie McCoslin Thames and husband Kenneth Thames: stepfather, Rufus Wright; mother-inlaw, Laura Hardcastle; brother-in-law, Curly Dozier and James Bennatte and James’ wife, Karen Bennatte.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frankie Weber McCoslin of Hallsville; son and daughter-inlaw, Jeremy and Heather McCoslin of Longview; granddaughters, Emmalee McCoslin and Finlee McCoslin of Longview; sister-in-law Linda Sassin and husband A. J. Sassin of Hempstead; sister-in-law, Wanda Dozier of Hempstead; and niece, Debbie Terry of Kennard, numerous nephews, cousins, and friends.
