Age 71 Memorial services for James Edwin (Jimmy) Blakeslee will be on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church on 1512 in Jewett. Dr. Delmar White will officiate.
Jimmy entered his eternal life on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Scott and White Hospital in College Station.
James Edwin Blakeslee (Jimmy) age 71, was born March 25, 1951 in Medina Ohio to Gregory Elihu Blakeslee and Nellie May Snyder Blakeslee. He and his father moved to Texas as a teen and he married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Jo Johnson in 1970. They were blessed with three sons; James Gregory Blakeslee & wife Melanie, Christopher Joe Blakeslee & wife Traci Lynn, and Scott Alan Blakeslee & wife Kari; and 10 grandchildren, Cody, Kevin, Jamie, Jessie, Tiler, Jacie, Emily, Makenzie, Neely and Jake. Jimmy was a welder by trade, but after heart problems he had to give it up. He also worked as a correctional officer at Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice in Huntsville and Limestone County Detention Center in Groesbeck.
