James Henrichson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 87. James was a man who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Known for his warmth, sincerity, and deep love for others, he believed in always leaving people better than he found them.
 A service celebrating James’s life was held on Saturday, May 31, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home. In honor of his memory, the family invited everyone to carry forward his legacy—make time for people, speak kindly, and leave everyone a little better than you found them.
 Born on Dec. 1, 1937, James lived a full and joyful life, defined by a strong work ethic, devotion to his family, and a heart for connection. His proudest accomplishments were the 63 wonderful years he spent married to the love of his life, Wanda Lee Henrichson, the bond he shared with his son, Kevin Lee Henrichson, and his forty-year career with Hunt Oil Company, where he was known for his integrity and loyalty. 
In his later years, James found great joy working at the State Fair of Texas, where his love for people shined. He delighted in every conversation, every laugh shared, and every opportunity to brighten someone’s day. Above all, James cherished the time he spent trying to keep up with his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their events, sharing stories, and encouraging them with the same love and energy that defined his life.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Francis Juanita Henrichson; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy & Ray Garner; niece’s husband,  Charles "Bill" Kerr; niece’s husband, Charles "Buster" Atkinson; and great-great-nephew, Harley Manheimer.
James is survived by a large and loving family, including his devoted wife: Wanda Lee Henrichson; his loving son, Kevin Lee Henrichson; and his grandchildren: Clayton Henrichson & Taylor Ann Henrichson and great-grandson, Brooks Henrichson;  Wyatt Henrichson & Morgan Henrichson; Brooke Henrichson; Taylor Henrichson; Nichole Jackson and great-grandson, Kaden Jackson; Nathan Brown; Charise Metzel & Adam Metzel and great-grandson, Maddox Metzel.
James is also remembered and survived by an extensive family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many generations beyond, including  - Brother, Nieces and Nephews and Their Families-

James’s life was a living example of compassion, loyalty, and joy. Whether it was through his stories, his handshake, or his heartfelt laughter, he made those around him feel seen and loved. His legacy is not just in the names listed here, but in the countless lives he impacted simply by being James.
