Joe Marvin McGilvray

Joe Marvin McGilvray, 72, beloved Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend, was called to his eternal resting place on February 14, 2022.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Fort Parker Memorial Park.

Joe Marvin entered this world on July 23, 1949, in Mexia, TX, born to J.B. and Mildred McGilvray.

Joe lived in Groesbeck his entire life and was in the GHS Class of 1967. He worked as a heavy machine operator for many years and had countless friends who would say he would’ve given the shirt off of his back for them. He ate breakfast at Mary’s every morning at 5 a.m. where he and his friends would sit and solve the world’s problems. He will missed by many.

Joe Marvin is preceded in death by his parents J.B. and Mildred, along with his sister, Janie Gibson and brother, Tony McGilvray.

He is survived by his daughter Christi McGilvray Carroll and granddaughters Hayden, Morgan and Emmy; sisters Cathy King, Carrie Faglie, Carol McLean and Melissa Monk; brothers Jimmy McGilvray, Bernard McGilvray and Gery Don McGilvray, and the spouses of all his siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
