As a highly decorated War Veteran, John is receiving full military honors at the DFW National Cemetery at a later date.

John Lamar Lenamon entered into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Memorial Day, May 25, 2020, in Fort Worth, TX at the age of 81. He was born on the Lenamon family farm in Box Church, TX to Benjamin Bart and Lillie Kate Lenamon. He was the youngest of four (4) children: Mary Beth Fife, Joe T. Lenamon, and Frances Lee Duplantis. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Beth.

John graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1956. He then studied Business at Texas A&M University and was in the class of 1960. He was a member of the Corp. of Cadets and sang in the Aggie Sing ing Cadets where he served as Vice President.

After graduation in 1961, John was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Captain. Initially, John served as a B-52 pilot with the highest security clearance, flying many missions of national security importance. After 5 years, he was certified as an HH-3E “Jolly Green Giant” Helicopter pilot and flew search and rescue missions for downed pilots in Vietnam with the 37th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron, saving many lives.

John married Sally Jane Ward after accepting an offer for a blind date with a young teacher in Roswell, NM. John and Sally were happily married for 57 years.

John was devoted to his wife and two daughters, Katrina and Kristen. While serving in the military they lived in California, Michigan, Florida and Texas. They also lived in Tucson, AZ, then Roswell, NM, and returned to Fort Worth, TX in 1978 where they continued to make their home for more than 40 years.

John was a natural entrepreneur and owned many businesses. He owned several laundries, a Big T Family Restaurant, Lenaco Roofing business and remodeled homes with the ability to do much of the work on his own. He had a very successful business, In-N-Out Lube on 8th Ave in Fort Worth for 15 years where he made many friends.

John loved being a father and adored his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Sally Jane Ward Lenamon; daughter, Katrina McGee and husband, Michael McGee; daughter, Kristen Farrar and husband, Phillip Farrar; granddaughter, Megan McGee and grandson, Matthew McGee.

His great joy and comfort was in knowing Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He is now home with Him in heaven.
