KAREN SUE FLEMING
Karen Sue Fleming passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 69. Karen was born on January 25, 1956, to Jessie Oliver (J.O.) and Rubinell Pelham in Waco, Texas. Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home with Reverend Marcus Sheffield officiating. Interment was in the Point Enterprise Cemetery.
In her younger years, she had one passion, riding her horse. She could be seen riding down the streets of Groesbeck, Texas. She later began piano lessons which led her to enjoy music which led to her favorite class in high school, band. Karen graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1974.
She became a licensed beautician. Karen met and married the love of her life, Jerry Fleming, in 1976. Together they raised two children and were married for 49 years. She then made a career move by becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and spent over 40 years in the field before retiring from her final position at the Mexia State Supported Living Center. Karen enjoyed lots of outdoor activities, but her favorite was raising daylilies; but she soon spread her efforts to other flowers. Every year she would move her flower bed or build a new one. Flowers were abundant in her yard and vegetable garden.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Krystal Kay Fleming.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Fleming, son Brian Scott and wife Michelle, grandson, Jordan Runnels, brother Jim Pelham and wife Terry, niece Staci Priest and husband Jon, and Josh Pelham and wife Valorie.
