Kathryn Martha Vance

Kathryn Martha Vance, 66, of Groesbeck, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, under the compassionate care of Solaris Hospice and Windsor Nursing Home.
Born on January 17, 1959, in Clute, Texas, Kathryn was the cherished daughter of Reverend O.M. and Lola Vance. She spent most of her early years and education in Clute and later graduated from East Texas Baptist University with a degree in Library Science.
A woman of great faith and even greater heart, Kathryn devoted her life to caring for others. She served elderly women throughout her career, offering both physical care and spiritual companionship with grace, patience, and humility. Her kindness was rooted in a deep love for our Lord and a profound trust in His word, which carried her through every season of life.
Kathryn was also blessed with an incredible talent for music. Her voice was a gift—clear, strong, and full of soul. Now, heaven’s choir is undoubtedly stronger, as her beautiful voice joins in perfect harmony.
In retirement, Kathryn found joy in the simple, meaningful things: a faithful weekly routine, cherished games of 42 or 84, visits with dear friends, and the laughter of their families.
She is survived by her siblings: Anna Wilson of Mansfield, Texas; Charles Vance and wife Karen of Texarkana; Elaine Hamlin and husband Mc of Lake Limestone; and other family members, Millie Vance of Damon, Texas, and Brenda Vance of Nampa, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her brothers Timothy Vance of Louisiana and Reverend Tom Vance of Idaho, and her sister Mamie Vance of Mexia.
A celebration of Kathryn’s life is currently being planned. In lieu of flowers, Kathryn requested that donations be made to Living Proof Church, 1207 E Navasota, Groesbeck, Texas 76642.
Kathryn lived a life of service, song, and faith. She will be remembered for her gentleness, her generosity, and her beautiful voice that surely now sings with the angels.
