Leland Troy Parker

Leland Troy Parker, 69, of Thornton passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was born September 14, 1949 in Cuero to the late Harry Hays and Ruby May Bishop Parker. He was always mothers favorite, a loving brother, and a loving and model father. Leland was a good baseball player while in high school and a loyal friend. He enjoyed being a cowboy and cherished his time spent hunting and fishing. Leland was a great dance partner, dancing many a mile across Texas, hence the exes below. He was a member of the NRA and an executive life member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Leland was a hat bender at Cavenders for 20 years where he earned the nickname “Hat Man”. He was proud of his role in a Bud Light commercial making him a YouTube sensation.

He is survived by all his exes who live in Texas; Sam, Lynda, Phillis, Victoria, Melanie and D’Ann; daughter, Christina Parker of Houston; sons, Brandon Parker of Thornton and Cole Parker of Houston; sister, Robin (Freddie) Blackburn of Huntsville; brothers, “Nub” Astin Hays (Trudy) Parker of Ball, L.A. and Kevin (Lisa) Parker of Thornton; grandchildren, Paige and Jackson Parker of Thornton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor George Iberra of Groesbeck’s Living Water Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Kyle Parker, Shawn Parker, Cole Parker and Tyson Blackburn.
