Michael Eugene “Mike” Hill

Michael Eugene “Mike” Hill, of Kosse, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021, at age 49.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jon Honea officiating.

Michael was born December 4, 1971, to Allen Hill and Debra Helms in Fort Worth, where he primarily lived while growing up and attending school.

Mike married Kimberly Kay Ellis on September 18, 2005. They lived in Teague, moved to Groesbeck, and then settled to make their home in Kosse where they have lived the past 10 years.

Mike was a truck driver for 15 years in the oil field business in Limestone and Freestone Counties and really enjoyed being a truck driver. He had changed to working at Carry-On Trailers in Mexia seven months ago. Mike liked music, working on vehicles, his yard as long as his health permitted, and helping people.

Mike was a man of few words but had a heart of gold. He knew no strangers, and would help anyone in any way he could, whether family, friend or stranger. He was a dear husband and dad, a good provider, an awesome PawPaw, and everyone’s best friend. He affected many lives with his unselfishness. He took great pride in Kim’s boys and deeply loved his grandson, “Little Man.” He loved his family more than they will ever know, including his extended family.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother Debra Helms; his grandparents; and his niece, Hanna Llyons.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly “Kim” of Kosse; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Tonya Mullen of Florida; son, Daniel Ryan Mullen of Palestine; that special grandson, “Little Man” – Daniel Ryan Mullen II of Jefferson; Jennifer Shepherd of Kosse, who was like a daughter to Mike and Kim; his father, Allen Hill of Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Allen Hill, Jr. and Wendy of Mesquite; sister and brother-in-law, Amber and Troy Gullett of Arkansas; brother, Steven Lee Hill of Texas; nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends.
