Morris Dean Beaver
Morris Dean Beaver met his LORD and Savior when he passed away in Groesbeck, Texas on April 1, 2022.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Tracy Sims officiating. Burial followed at Fort Parker Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stuart Lenoir, Jonathan Bain, Stephen Lenoir, Jeff Haynes, Keith Jackson, and Brian Allen.
Morris Dean was born in Groesbeck on April 10, 1937, to Buddy and Lorene Beaver. He graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1955 and Sam Houston State University. Beaver spent six months in Fort Polk, Louisiana in the army in 1958 and later served with the National Guard till 1964.
Beaver was a rancher all of his adult life. He loved working the land, working cattle, and anything that went along with that. Along with ranching, he worked as a car salesman for Ferguson Chevrolet in Groesbeck and as an agent for the Reliable Life Insurance Company until his retirement in February 1999.
Morris Dean married Marcia Jo Blair in 1966 and created a home for his family and provided for them. As a father to three children, Beaver was involved in all aspects of their life. He built homecoming floats for their classes, worked with the FFA for their cattle shows, and attended their band concerts and sporting events. From childhood to adulthood, “BoBo” was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s mentor, life coach, advisor, and the center of their lives. Many memories were made traveling with Marcia, the kids, family, and friends to various places in and around the United States. He cherished his time with his family and friends. Beaver had a fun sense of humor, was a good dancer, and was a great storyteller.
Beaver was active in the community participating for many years in the Groesbeck Lion’s Club, Red Stocking Follies, Relay for Life, the Limestone County Show, and the local benefits for family and friends. He was a Groesbeck Independent School Board Member for several terms. He served as the Limestone County Commissioner for Precinct 3 from 2009 to 2017. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Thornton.
Morris Dean’s passing leaves a huge hole in the family and the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Beaver’s family rejoices that he is able to leave his earthly strife behind and can rest in peace in eternity with God.
Beaver was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Lorene Beaver, his grandson, Jeff Davis Blair IV, and his nephew, Steve Stone.
Beaver is survived by his wife, Marcia, of Groesbeck; Daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Sam LeNoir of Groesbeck and Cathy and Thomas Bain of Glen Rose and son, Jeff Davis Blair III; Sister and brother-in-law, Alta and Kyle Stone; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
