Mr. Jonathan Andre’ Rogers

Mr. Jonathan Andre Rogers., born one sunny afternoon on June 4. 1982 in Dallas. TX to Ms. Annie Rogers. He was the fourth of five children born. Shortly after, he came to Kosse. TX to be raised by his grandmother. Lillie Pearl Rogers, in the country. He was also welcomed and greeted by his older sister. Lisa and older brother. Shumon. His Aunt Minnie and Uncle Nollen also welcomed him.

Jonathan accepted Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kosse. TX under the tutelage of Rev. C.C. Cross. He later joined Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Stranger. TX under the leadership of Rev. L.B. Perry.

Jonathan attended Groesbeck ISD. He was a proud graduate of the Class of 2000. He excelled in sports; however, he was best known for his natural athletic skills and abilities. He could high jump with ea,st; he could turn a back flip in a heartbeat. He had muscles for days. He held close friendships with his classmates and local cousins throughout his life. He moved to Dallas after graduation. While there, he continued his studies and attended El Centro Community College majoring in AV Tech in hopes to be a cameraman. His love of the country and his family would soon bring him back to Kosse.

Jonathan was affectionately known as Beaver. He’d had this nickname since childhood.

Beaver was a jack of all trades, yet surprisingly a master of many. You could find him painting, doing yard work, car detailing, house remodeling, or even under a hood. He worked for Total Restoration for two years, several jobs with Jack of All Trades. and in the community.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting. telling jokes, drinking sweet tea, and playing his guitar most of all. He loved his jeans and cowboy boots; he traveled with his Bible. Just last week, he sewed his own Bible cover. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed sporting his jersey every now and then. Beaver liked to keep up with his nieces and nephews. He became a role model for his nephews showing them how things should be done. You could fmd him at all their birthday parties and playing games. He loved his siblings and always helped them whenever he could.

Unexpectedly, on Wednesday evening, June 19, 2019, Jonathan went to be with the Lord. He is now welcomed to his eternal home in Heaven with his grandmother, Sarah Lillie Pearl Rogers, and oldest brother. Corey Rogers. This was all too fast and all too soon.
