Ms. Jackie Levingston

Ms. Jackie Blacknall Levingston, former mayor and city council member (1991-2014) and educator (1978-2019) of Groesbeck, Tx., transitioned from life into eternity on December 30, 2021, at Baylor-Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Tx.

Ms. Levingston, at the time of her death, was the seated (23rd) Most Ancient Grand Matron of the Grand High Court Heroines of Jericho Prince Hall Masonic Affiliation Texas Jurisdiction with a childhood bloodline in the organization encompassing many years of dedicated and faithful service.

The Celebration of Life Services will include Ms. Levingston lying in state beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, with a Memorial Tribute in Music at 7 p.m. at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church, 629 N. Grayson St., Groesbeck, Tx., 76642. The Celebration continues Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, with a Public Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a service of Thanksgiving starting at noon in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church, 306 N. Ellis St., Groesbeck, Tx., 76642.

In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to the Jackie Blacknall Levingston Scholarship Fund, 703 S. Waco St., Groesbeck, Tx. 76642.

Local Services are entrusted to Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe St. Teague, Tx., Dr. E.V. Moore, Funeral Director, and with Respect of Life Funeral Home, 7746 Belbay, Houston, Tx., 77033, Dorthea Jones Pointer, Funeral Director and Family Liaison.

Every person in attendance must wear a facial covering and adhere to CDC guidelines.
