Nelda Stutts Houston

Nelda Stutts Houston was born in Thornton, Texas on June 1st, 1941, and passed from this life on April 17, 2021.

She graduated from Thornton School in 1959. She was Salutatorian of her class. Nelda then started working for Burch, Hill, Knudsen Insurance Company for a number of years, before starting her own business as owner of Top Gun Trucking.

Nelda grew up on a farm outside of Thornton, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and traveling, but she loved playing dominos. She was also a great pie maker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Verne Stutts; her brothers, Buddy Stutts, and Kenneth Stutts; her sisters, Jean Perkins, Jimmie Sanders, and Billie Helen Jones.

Nelda is survived by her son, Talmadge Lee Houston of Seagoville; her sister, Lola Sue Taylor of Hurst, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are pending at Byrum Funeral Home Lancaster, Texas.
