ODIS DON “BOOTS” CARGILE

A memorial for Odis Don “Boots” Cargile was held November 12, 2018, in Port Aransas Pass, Texas. Boots died at his home on October 21, 2018.

Boots was born March 3, 1941, to Elmer “Pete” Cargile and Olean Little Cargile in Groesbeck. He grew up in the Prairie Point Community and attended Groesbeck schools. He was baptized at an early age in a stock tank in Prairie Point by Brother Hubert Zimmerman along with several childhood friends.

In recent times, he spent a lot of time studying the Bible. Boots was a good storyteller in his youthful days and also while working in the oil field business in East Texas for many years. His vegetable garden also was of great interest. Boots was an avid ham radio enthusiast.

Boots is survived by his wife, Carol Sue Cargile of Port Aransas Pass, Texa; sons, Odis Don Cargile Jr. and Brett Allen Cargile. He is also survived by many relatives in the Limestone County, Texas area.

Preceding Boots in death was his parents, his son Carl Edward Cargile, brother Pete Cargile, Jr., Elmer Blake Cargile and niece Cheryl Lynn Cargile.
