Richard Gerald Stem

Richard Gerald Stem, Sr. (Jerry) Passed away March 19, 2021 at 10 PM at his home in Houston, Texas at age 80. He was born September 3, 1940 in Limestone County to Joseph Richard and Cecil Murray Stem. Richard married his sweetheart Judy Carol Parks November 5, 1965.

He graduated from Jewett High School in 1959. He then enlisted in the US Army Reserves for six years. Richard worked most of his career in the meat packing business for Armor and Hormel companies in Houston, Texas. He also worked for pyramid manufacturing company. The Stem family attended the MET Baptist Church for many years, until Richard’s health prevented it.

Richard loved coaching his sons Little League baseball teams and attending all their games. He was a huge Houston “Oilers” fan as well as the Rockets and the ‘Stros. He liked to fish and hunt a little and he was always able to keep the cars and the lawnmowers running.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Judy Carol Stem, sons; Richard Stem, JR. of the Woodlands, Texas, Joey Stem of Tomball, Texas, and Jeff Stem and wife Jena of the Woodlands, Texas, grandchildren, Erik and Zoie of the Woodlands, Texas, sisters, Rita Turgeon of Thornton, Texas, and Brenda Winn and husband Walter of Franklin, Texas, aunt Marie Stem of Boone Praire, Texas, and brother-in-law George Parks of Dickinson, Texas, and sister-in-law, Susan Ragle of DeQueen, Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held at the Ferguson Cemetery, Sunday March 28, 2021 at 1PM
