Robert Eugene Archibald

Robert Eugene Archibald, 91 of Mexia, passed away on November 12, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Point Enterprise with Ray Jones officiating. The family requests that face mask be worn. There will be no formal visitation.

Robert was born on October 9, 1929 in Mexia, Texas to Melvin Willis & Liller Nancy Myers Archibald. He had been in the community most of his life. He retired as a welder and afterwards, went to work for Limestone County Road & Bridge, from where he retired as a road supervisor. He married the love of his life, Imogene U. Webb on October 8, 1987 in Mexia. He was a member of Forest Glade Baptist Church. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work and watching westerns, especially John Wayne, with Imogene.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Tyler Archibald. Survivors include his wife, Imogene; children, Reonia Fleming & husband, Roy of Mexia, Robert (Archie) Archibald Jr., of Mexia, Paula West & husband, Ron of Groesbeck, Marlene Rand & husband, Doug of Groesbeck, Mike Arney & wife, Melissa of Groesbeck; sister, Dorothy Hedrick of McGregor; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; as well as numerous other relatives.
