Terris Lee Chapman

Terris Lee Chapman passed away February 27, 2019 in Waco, Texas at the age of 60. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel.

Terris was born January 27, 1959 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Aaron and Marlene McDowell Head. After graduating from Meade High School in Meade, Nebraska, she entered Tarlton State University where she received two Master’s, one in Accounting and the other in Business Administration.

Terris married the love of her life, Billy R. Chapman, on May 15, 1981; they were blessed with three children, Brittany, Chelsea and Charlie. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She cherished her family, however her proudest moment was becoming a grandmother; Mabel owned her heart from day one. She enjoyed keeping, and, especially, spoiling her.

Terris worked for the Mexia State Supported Living Center for a few years, prior to retiring due to health. She was an active member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Mexia and Under The Blood Church in Mexia.

She was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Head.

Terris is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Billy Chapman of Groesbeck; mother, Marlene Head; children, Brittany Chapman of Mexia, Chelsea Chapman and husband, Ryan Spracklen of Hewitt and Charlie Chapman and wife, Angie of Waco; granddaughter, Mabel Spracklen; sisters, Anita Higgins, Tonja Graves, Bobbette McCartney and Jaylene Zanker; and a number of nieces and nephews.
