Vickie Elaine (Stone) Rhodes

Vickie Elaine (Stone) Rhodes, of Jewett, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at age 63.

Visitation will be held in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m.

Funeral services will begin in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, with Pastor Jimmy Cotton officiating and Darren Stone, pianist, providing the music. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Greg Walcott, Bryan Walcott, Steve Ferguson, Rocky Foley, Jr., Tyler Hurst, and Cade Allen Staggs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jered Stone and Jeremy Stone.

Vickie was born September 7, 1957 to Kenneth W. Stone and Johnnie L. (Carter) Stone in Mexia. She graduated from Groesbeck High School in the Class of 1976.

Vickie was united in marriage with Wallace “Wally” Rhodes on November 11, 1977 in Groesbeck. They moved to Jewett where they have continued to live the past forty years. She had worked at Accurate Pumping and Contracting in Farrar until she retired with disability five years ago.

Vickie liked to read and especially enjoyed playing Bingo all over with her mother, Johnnie and Sissi Foley. She also enjoyed playing the slots at Las Vegas and various casinos. She was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tony Cardwell.

She is survived by her husband, Wally Rhodes; twin sons: Waylon Rhodes and his fiancée, Tracy King of China Spring, and Wesley Rhodes of Jewett. Her grandchildren are Tracy Rhodes and Tyler Rhodes (Wesley’s children) and Wyatt Roper Rhodes (Waylon’s son). She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Tony Heimann of Cat Spring; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Jackie Stone of Groesbeck; brother and sister-in-law, John Wayne and Lisa Stone of Troup; sister, Lori Stone of Jewett; sister-in-law, Betty Rhodes; and nephews: Jeremy Stone and wife Maggie of Tyler, Jered Stone and wife Brittany of Groesbeck, Jason Stone of Troup, and Darron Stone of Dallas.
