WENDI SUE CAMPBELL

Wendi Sue Campbell, of Dallas, Texas, passed away in her home on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at the age of 52.

A small private funeral service was held for Wendi’s family and close friends on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026, in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel, followed by an intimate burial in Ebenezer Cemetery at Kosse. The family is very grateful for the love, prayers, and support from all those not present.

Wendi was born on July 29, 1973, in Houston, Texas, to JH Philmon, Jr. and Janie Ruth Philmon. She grew up in Pasadena, Texas, and later moved to La Mirada, California, graduating from La Mirada High School in 1991. Wendi earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M in 1998, and a AMPBELL Bachelor of Science in Clinical Nutrition from UT Southwestern in Dallas in 2000. She worked at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, focusing on burn victims, which were often young children that were victims of abuse. In 2007 the Texas Dietetic Association honored Wendi with the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year Award.

Wendi was united in marriage with Mark Forrest Campbell on June 3, 2006, in Dallas, Texas.

With a kind and generous heart, Wendi loved and cherished her family deeply. She was so proud of her children, and she truly made a difference in people’s lives through her work at the hospital.

Wendi has been preceded in death by her father, JH Philmon, Jr., her uncle Dale Langston, and her brother, Jason Brett Philmon.

Wendi is survived by her husband, Mark Campbell of Dallas; her loving children, Jake and Brooke; her mother, Janie Philmon of Kosse, Texas; her brothers, Lanny Lown and Mike Sulewski; her aunt, Sue Langston; and her cousins, Cari Lovorn and Amanda Powledge.
