Whenever a natural disaster strikes there are those who are quick to point out that the end of time is drawing near. I would agree but suggest caution for I believe it was for times like these that Jesus gave us the following words. “Watch out that no one deceives you . . . When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.” (Mark 13:5, 7, 8)

Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to live, and only a few find it.” (Matt. 7:13-14) The Lord warned that swarms of people will go in the broad easy way and absolutely miss His promise of life. Some reject God’s way of life because it is to limiting, to restricting, and to narrow-minded for them. Christ urged everyone to seek the “Narrow Way”. He promised life to those who find it. Remember, the “Narrow Way” to every promise Jesus makes is found through the Lord Christ himself.
