My son Jackson Tatum and my great-nephew Noah Jackson were members this year of the Groesbeck 8u Coach Pitch team, coached by Alfred Jackson, Elgrick Tatum, John Diaz and Jason Nemons. These coaches emphasized hard work, dedication, teamwork and sportsmanship. The team worked on fundamentals and developed skills that translated into success on the field. My father, Raymond Carl “PeeWee” Jackson Sr. loved baseball. The love of the game continues in his grandson Jackson and great-grandson Noah.

Kosse celebrated 150 years of cityhood with their Sesquicentennial Homecoming Celebration last weekend, June 11 and 12, with a record turn-out of nearly 900 people attending the Street Dance. Several other events, including bingo, a fish fry lunch, a parade, Heritage House tours, and more drew Kosse residents of past and present to celebrate the Little Town with the Big Heart.
