Thornton Chamber of Commerce hosted 2021, $5000.00 giveaway, at the Mary Helen Nance Community Center, on Saturday night the 25th. The event was sponsored by the Thornton Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
Another good day and good attendance at Senior Citizens with 19 having lunch, being Ann Brown, Lorene Stembridge, Sue, and Woody Wood, Gayla Lind, Doris Lemley, James Lenamond, Snuffy Bennett, Elizabeth Neason, Wilma Lee, Wayne Sharp, Neennah German, Alma McCurry, Earl Mask, Fonetta Simmons, Hank and Elle Staniszewski, Janice Bilbrey, site mgr., and myself. Still praying for Glenda Gambini who is in hospital in Groesbeck. Also on the prayer list is Linda Watson, who has health issues and we miss you ladies.
Tina’s Pet Grooming, formerly of Groesbeck, has opened up shop in a smaller space in Thornton as of Sept 1. Despite some confusion around whether the shop was back in business or still in the process of moving, owner Tina Ary said that business has stayed fairly steady, all things considered.
