The Oletha Jamboree will take place on 937 with Rick Baldwin playing at 6 p.m. and Larry Youngblood going on at 7 p.m. The John Allread band will be unable to play due to health reasons. A meal will be available.
Sunday, Sept. 14
11 a.m. — A special music event will take place at the Oletha Baptist Church. John White of Houston Texas will be the guest singer. He plays the guitar and harmonica as he sings many of the old hymns and other arrangements. The Oletha Baptist Church offers Children’s Church services for the children and a nursery if needed.

11:30 a.m. — Flu Shot Clinic at Thornton Central Baptist Church, 203 E 10 th Street, provided by LMC.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department Annual Fish Fry will take place at station 1 located at 6614 FM 937. Plates are $15 and include fish, fries, beans, hushpuppies, dessert, and a drink. Saturday, Nov. 8
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – The 16th Annual Thorndale Car Show will take place on Main Street in Thorndale. Registration is from 8 a.m. to noon on-site ($25 per show vehicle). The event is free to the public and features music by DJ Danny, vendor booths, a Hot Rod Garage open house, an afterparty with live music (TBD) beginning at 2 p.m., and a 50/50 drawing benefiting Thorndale High School scholarships. Food and drinks including sausage wraps and sodas will be available from the Thorndale Masonic Lodge #978. Trophies will be awarded at 1:45 p.m. for Best of Show, Best Motorcycle, and six vehicle categories.
