The eight title given scripture in Psalms 119 is “the word.” “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed there to according to thy word” (Ps. 119:9). The Bible alone is the illuminated, inspired revelation of God and is therefore the sole ground of authority for all believers. The Bible does not proclaim a social gospel, but a sinner gospel. The apostle Peter speaks of our service to the very words of Christ. “Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God” (Jn. 6:68-69). How can we pray with understanding and trust what we ask for or seek will have an answer? “But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him” (1 Jn. 2:5). We should desire the milk of the word so we may grow in Christ. “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” (1 Pet. 2:2). How often will you take time and just read the bible? Can you quote from memory at least one bible verse? You cannot trust any other book than the bible.
