The second of nine titles given the Word of God in Psalms 119 is “ his testimonies.” “ Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart” ( Ps. 119: 2). A testimony is normally that which a person gives concerning something they have been a witness of and believe to be true. The Word of God is the truth concerning his love and direct will for all life. It is our individual responsibility to read and place the Word of God in our hearts. “ And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart” ( Deut. 6: 56). The Word of God should be the testimony from our lips in all the conversations we experience during each day. “ And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up” ( Deut. 6: 7).
