Lady Goats Earn All-District Honors
The Groesbeck Lady Goats garnered 10 All-District honors as well as 12 Academic All-District honors. “I am extremely proud of our girls and everything they accomplished this season. Earning All-District honors is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment they showed every single day,” Coach Kiley Persons said. “These awards are well deserved, and I’m excited to see our athletes recognized for the effort they put into our program.” Newcomer of the Year went to Jazmin Guerrero (Fr.). Gabrielle Smith (Fr.), Kaidance Hutchison (Jr.), Carlene Carraway (Fr.), and Kamryn Curry (Jr.) earned 1st Team All-District honors. Earning 2nd Team All-District honors were Marisol Guerrero (Sr.) and Tehgan Longer (So.). Honorable Mention All-District honors went to Brittyn Bradley (Sr.), Presley Stanfield (Sr.), and Laina Foy (So.). “This season was a huge step forward for us as a team. After finishing fourth in district last year, our girls battled their way to a second-place finish this season, and that says a lot about their growth, resilience, and belief in each other,” Persons said. “They bought into the culture we are building and continued to compete with heart all year long.” Earning Academic All-District honors were Brittyn Bradley (Sr.), Presley Stanfield (Sr.), Landrie Pringle (Sr.), Marisol Guerre-ro (Sr.), Kamryn Curry (Jr.), Kaidance Hutchison (Jr.), Kealey Trojacek (Jr.), Tehgan Longer (So.), Laina Foy (So.), Jazmin Guerrero (Fr.), Gabrielle Smith (Fr.), and Carlene Carraway (Fr.). “What excites me most is that we have a lot of returners coming back, and the future of this program is very bright. This year was only the beginning,” Persons said. “Our girls have set a strong foundation, and I truly believe there are even bigger things ahead for this team and program. I’m proud of what they have accomplished so far, and I’m thankful for the support from our school and community throughout the season.”
