Groesbeck, Kosse see slight dip in sales tax revenue; Thornton remains on a steady incline
Limestone and Freestone Counties show noticeable differences not only for the month, but year-to-date as well.
In Freestone County, Fairfield and Streetman saw larger declines for the month while Teague and Wortham saw some profit to help balance the difference for the county. The county, year-to-date is 5.247 in the negative drawing $1,025,790.03 compared to $1,082.594.72 this time last year.
Limestone County is in a trickling increase by 1.615 percent drawing $1,468,721.36 compared to $1,445,374.12 this time last year. Groesbeck and Kosse saw a slight dip this month compared to last year while Coolidge, Mexia and Thornton brought in a little more to balance proceeds for the county.
City sales tax revenue breakdown are as follows:
Mexia received $274,493.69 compared to the $251,783.63 reported in this month in 2016, an increase of 9.01 percent. Year-to-date, Mexia received $1,128,214.90. That number is 2.19 percent more than the $1,103,946.58 year-to-date total, 12 months ago.
Kosse remains in the positive YTD even though they fell a few points this month generating $10,021.90, a decrease of 6.89 percent.
