Texas Water Utilities invested $80 million in water and wastewater systems in 2023

Texas Water Utilities, which provides water and wastewater services to more than 138,000 Texans, directly invested more than $80 million in 2023 to keep water safe and flowing in the state. The investment includes infrastructure reinforcements, repairs, replacements, weather emergency preparations and improved system monitoring and communications services within the 38 counties where the organization operates. The 2023 total investment is nearly double what the utility invested in the previous year, as infrastructure continues to expand and improve to meet increased customer demand amid state population growth.

Keeping Tradition

Long ago, a young lady in town by the name of Louise Oneal use to gather the Kosse news out of the little wooden box for the Groesbeck Journal that you see in the picture; prior to her, it was Pete Smith. Louise was the mother to Jimmy, Tommy, Joyce, and Carol Oneal. An original box has been located in the fire station, and placed inside the city office; our newest replica is inside “Branded Market”. Trying to keep tradition going and old fashion newspapers, we encourage our Kosse residents to submit some positive Kosse news for all to share. Although Louise and Pete are long gone; hopefully the tradition of sharing news among citizens and friends is not. Thank You Louise for all that you did!
