The Nineteenth of June Organization of Limestone County is presenting a weekend full of activities at Comanche Crossing to celebrate the day in 1865 Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston and announced the end of slavery in Texas – almost two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
