This year’s Limestone County Master Gardeners class members are working toward completing their 50 hours of training. The group has attended classes on subjects such as plant growth and development, plant pathology, soil, turf grass, vegetable gardening, water, pesticides and entomology. They will soon begin their 50 hours of volunteer services in Limestone County. Texas has the fourthlowest nurse-to-population ratio in the country, with only 9.25 nurses per 1,000 residents, according to a recent report by the comptroller’s office.

“In political and sociological theory, the elite are a small group of powerful people who hold a disproportionate amount of wealth, privilege, political power, or skill in a group.” If we accept this as the status quo in the terms that the “ELITE” are describing themselves, then this is total BS. I have no problem with people being wealthy, and I believe it is part of the American dream, but to claim to be powerful, privileged, and wealthy so as to make decisions for the public is, to me, a bridge to far. I believe that each person is an individual with dreams of the pursuit of happiness and should be allowed to pursue happiness without restrictions, but I also believe that I don’t want someone else’s dreams crammed down my throat every evening when I want to watch the TV!!!
