High-speed rail company fails to pay 2021 property taxes
The company planning to build a high-speed rail line connecting Houston and Dallas failed to pay 2021 taxes on any of the property it purchased along the proposed route, and currently owes Limestone County $10,055, including property tax, penalties and interest..
Grand Jury Indictments
The following indictments were handed down March 22 by a Limestone County Grand Jury. Those listed are not guilty unless and until a court finds otherwise, an indictment means there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.
Limestone Game Warden wears many hats
Limestone County Game Warden Thomas Rinn’s job has expanded recently in a way that has nothing to do with hunting or fishing – although it is outdoors. Each week, about 60 game wardens travel to the border to help stem the tide of illegal immigration. Rinn is part of that work, traveling to the border about every other month, staying around nine days each time, and working 12-hour days while there.

Limestone County commissioners spent about half an hour discussing whether or not to lift the burn ban at their meeting Monday, April 25, a hot-button issue that can have serious consequences for county residents one way or another.
