The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce welcomed back a familiar face at their most recent lunch meeting, Wednesday, June 29, with a presentation that focused on preventing senior citizen fraud and financial abuse.
A water main break, on Sunday, June 26 the second within two weeks, affected between 200-300 commercial and residential customers per City Manager Chris Henson.
As the temperature soars to 100 degrees and more, it doesn’t seem to stop Janice Bilbrey, site manager, Ann Brown, Elizabeth Neason, Alma McCurry, Vicky Vaughn, Jo Ann Archer, Wilma Lee, Wayne Sharp, Gay McBride, Snuffy Bennett, Woody and Sue Wood and myself, as we gathered to have lunch and fellowship together. We also enjoyed our turkey and squash dressing lunch that was on the menu for the day. Our own Lorene Stembridge was unable to be with us after returning from a week in New York and evidently came in contact with that dreadful Covid while there.
I just got back from a family reunion. I enjoyed seeing distant cousins whose names I couldn’t remember. I just called them all “cuz.”
