“I want to thank the city staff for their diligence during this time. I especially want to thank Steve Sharp, Gary Beard, and Michael Ochoa for their work keeping the water plant operational. Those guys essentially camped out at the plant to ensure it continued to work 24 hours a day. It was really impressive to know they were going to such lengths to serve this community. Another public works employee, who should not go unnoticed, is Falcon Bates. He really put in the work this weekend as the oncall guy. I can’t say enough about the Public Works crews because they usually work in the background without much publicity but it’s times like this that really show you their worth. The list of people to thank is enormous but I don’t want to let the opportunity go by to thank Jamie Ellison of Ellison Steel, Al Boytis of Al’s Auto, and Jason Milstead of NAPA Auto Parts for providing the diesel heaters the city needed to keep the water plant running. The service provided by the First Baptist Church and the Living Proof Church during this time is immeasurable. They really led the way in providing for not just our citizens, but the citizens of Limestone County.”
