Early voting for the General Primary Runoff Elections began on Monday of the last week. Early voting ends this Friday, July 10. The hours for early voting for this week are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The actual election day is Tuesday, July 14.

AUSTIN - July 2 - Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will provide approximately $182 million in emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food benefits for the month of July as the state continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. HHSC received federal approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to extend the maximum, allowable amount of SNAP benefits to recipients based on family size.
AUSTIN - July 7 - Governor Greg Abbott announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will provide free COVID-19 testing in Edinburg, Texas as part of the federal government’s surge testing efforts in hot spots throughout the country. This new site will offer 5,000 tests per day and will be operational Wednesday, July 8th through Tuesday, July 14th from 8 AM to 6 PM. This surge testing site is made possible through a collaboration with the State of Texas, HHS, Hidalgo County, and the City of Edinburg.
