Kosse Methodist Bazaar Auction next Saturday, October 7
Some of the varied items included in the morning silent auction and 1 pm live auction are: a cast iron pot-bellied stove, church pews, marbled glass church window, a Kosse brick, framed print of old time cotton harvest, and a trio of Norman Rockwell prints. Collectors will also be interested in coin sets, a Coca-Cola cast metal toy 1964 Ford Mustang and a Spiro Agnew clock. From our crats persons we have a delightful flowerpot birdbath, a painted gourd birdhouse, a garden gate that qualifies as a yard sculpture, handmade baby’s quilt, a walking stick and a saddle holder. Two items of special interest are a week’s vacation in Estes Park, Colorado Cabin that sleeps up to 10 and a Black Angus heifer from the herd of Bobby Beseda. It wouldn’t be a Methodist event without food items and the following are special - Camille’s bread pudding and sauce, Eddie’s pie in matching ceramic holder, homemade dessert of the month for a year, Something Wonderful from Austin’s McCarver Family Steakhouse and one of Christine’s famous cakes. A boot filled with coins, an Avon gift set, framed pencil sketches, yard tools and an unusual cupcake dish and a hummingbird hanging lamp are a few more of the many items to choose from. John McCarver will be our Auctioneer. It’s so much fun that we ought to charge admission!
