Collier begins as new pastor of FBC Groesbeck
GROESBECK—First Baptist Church in Groesbeck has called Keith Collier to be their senior pastor after an eight-month search. Collier’s first Sunday at the church was Oct. 1.
Collier, 40, comes to Groesbeck, having served most recently as a lay pastor at Normandale Baptist Church in Fort Worth as well as managing editor for the Southern Baptist TEXAN, the newspaper of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. Prior to that, he was director of news and information at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.
“Groesbeck is a great community, and our family is excited to be here,” Collier said. We believe God wants to change lives, and we invite anyone to come worship with us.”
A native Texan, Collier grew up near Beaumont and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Lamar University. He also earned a Master of Divinity and a Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He is married to Amy, and they have three children.
FBC Groesbeck holds worship services on Sundays at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with discipleship classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday night activities are from 6:00-7:30 p.m. and include Awanas for children, a worship time for middle and high school students, and adult Bible studies.
