Groesbeck Study Club Christmas Party
The Groesbeck Study Club had its Christmas Party on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 6:30 in the meeting room at the Groesbeck Convention Center. The room was decorated in a multitude of Snowmen. They were everywhere much to our delight. As you entered the room, you saw several long tables in groups all around the room. They were covered in bright red tablecloths and down the center of each was a snowy runner covered with shiny crystals and snowman after snowman. At each place setting were White plates with silver trim and white napkins and silver utensils. Along the far wall were the tables for our Gift of Giving families. One table was for the families gifts and along another wall were two huge boxes for the food that we brought for these families. To the right as we entered, Mary Belle Leach played beautiful Christmas music and just past her was the table with the sweet and unsweet tea, coffee and water for us. The Social Committee who worked so hard to make this night festive and beautiful were Mary Belle Leach, Angela Roach, Sue Waller, Suzie Waller, and Annette Brannan; Many thanks ladies for all your hard work. Joe Friday’s catered the meal and it was delicious. We had Mixed Green Salad with Ranch Dressing, Champagne Chicken, Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes, Confetti Corn, and Garlic Buttery Rolls with Key Lime Pie and Buttermilk Pie for dessert. After the meal Janice Levi with the help of Mary Belle Leach told us a story of Christmas during which we would sing along to a few Christmas favorites and one was Sweet Little Jesus Boy performed by Ginger Fritz and then we closed with We wish you a Merry Christmas. A wonderful time of fellowship followed.
