Shepherd Sayings August 24, 2017
Jesus said, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.” (Matt. 7:13-14)
Notice the emphasis Jesus placed on everyone’s personal responsibility to seek the Lord’s way to true life. Isaiah, speaking for God said, “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” (Isa. 55:6)
Some will ask, “But how am I to seek Him?” Isaiah clearly shows how to find God’s narrow way. He wrote, “Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man hi thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely forgive.” (Isa. 55:7)
