Shepherd Sayings August 9, 2018
Jesus said, “Treat others the way you want them to treat you” (Matt. 7:12). Paul, writing to the church at Philippi said, “Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others” (Phil. 2:5).
I heard a tale of two hunters in hiking boots who met a bear which began to chase them. One hunter sat and changed his hiking boots for running shoes. The other said, “You don’t think you can out run that bear in those shoes, do you?” The first replied, “I don’t need to out run the bear. I only need to out run you.” I know it’s just a tale, but doesn’t it point up how prone we are to think of ourselves?
